Most commonly, raccoons will reside in either your home’s chimney or attic; typically raccoons start their home invasions during the early spring. Raccoon mothers, who are pregnant, will look for a safe and secure place to deliver her babies; more times than not, your attic or chimney are her top choices!

Raccoons are extremely strong and destructive; they will rip shingles of roofs, remove faulty chimney screens and caps, they will pretty much destroy anything in their site to gain access to your home.

Once inside your home, the mother will designate separate spots for her nest and toilet; raccoons always defecate and urinate in the same exact spot. Unfortunately, raccoons do not use the toilet outside, and after a while, the smell sinks into the insulation of your home, causing an awful odor to diffuse through your home.

Raccoons, by nature, are very destructive, and will destroy insulation, wires, shingles and other parts of your house. Raccoon Exclusion

Raccoons can tear a hole in your roof, soffit, or just about anywhere on the exterior of your home.  The eviction and exclusion process is the best and most humane way to get raccoons out of your home or business and keep them out.  Step one is to confirm that raccoons have actually encroached into the structure.  Once that is confirmed, we need to identify all entry points and install eviction doors so the raccoons can exit to find food and water, but they will not be able to get back in.  We also must identify any other potential, likely entry points and take preventive measures on those so that the raccoons cannot re-enter.  That said, they do outsmart us sometimes, and that is why we give you a 2-Year warranty…if they get back in, we do not charge you to come back and get them out again (for the warranty period).  Once we know they have been out for at least a week (sometimes we wait a bit longer), we will remove the doors and close up the areas using metal screen or flashing.  If, when we are done, the closed areas aesthetically are not what you would like to see, then you will need to hire a contractor to do repairs that are more aesthetically pleasing.

During baby season, the process is slightly different.  The first step is to get into any accessible area that the raccoons have encroached upon to check for babies.  If there are babies, we will gather them up and place them in a box for Mama to take.  Raccoons are extremely maternalistic, and they will usually take them quickly.  It is important to understand that if a predator gets to them before the mother can, that is just Mother Nature.  Additionally, if a baby is sick or weak, the mother may not take it.  We do not trap unless absolutely necessary because any animal trapped on your property and removed must be euthanized in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  They do not need to die, just get out of your home and stay out!
