Can Plants Help With Animal Control?
June 26, 2018Skunks can be a huge pain to try and get rid of in your yard. They can smell awful and if you are not careful, they can cause problems for you and your family. Their spray is a huge problem and it is extremely difficult to get the smell of the spray out, so you will want to take as many precautions as possible to avoid getting yourself into this situation. Let’s take a look at some of the items you can do in order to avoid getting sprayed alongside having your grass be ruined by this kind of animal.
Add Light
Skunks hate light, so by adding a bit of lighting to your walkway, or around your home, it makes skunks run away quite quickly. A motion sensor flood light is also a great way to really throw skunks off. This, as well as the other things on this list, will in no way harm the animal but instead make them stay away.
Seal All Holes
Sealing the holes under your home is a surefire way to keep skunks out of your home. While this won’t help with the yard, it ensures that you will not have to deal with the removal of the animal from your home.
Sprinklers
Motion censored sprinklers can be beneficial, but are typically used as a last resort, as they can spray you as well. Skunks hate water, so this is a great way to steer them in a different direction while avoiding any harm.
